ComfortDelGro entered the Australian market in 2005 with the acquisition of Westbus Group’s 614 buses in Sydney, New South Wales. Within four years, we grew significantly and expanded operations within New South Wales and interstate to Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat in Victoria. This expansion has continued in New South Wales with 2012’s acquisition of Deanes Bus Lines and 2014’s acquisition of the business operated by Blue Mountains Bus Company.

ComfortDelGro Australia (CDC) is a key provider of essential bus services and the operator of the largest integrated taxi network in Australia. Every year, we move millions of customers in metropolitan and regional communities across New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, the Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.

From our beginnings as an operator of essential bus services in NSW we now operate bus services and taxi networks across Australia, in line with ComfortDelGro’s strategy to scale its growing point-to-point mobility business and transform CDC into a multi-modal mobility service provider.

In recent years, CDC has strengthened our bus portfolio with expansion into many new towns, cities and states. In 2018, we acquired Tullamarine Bus Lines and Forest Coach Lines, expanding our Victorian and New South Wales footprints respectively. In 2018, we boosted CDC’s bus credentials further with the purchase of Buslink’s operations in the Northern Territory, Queensland, regional Victoria and regional New South Wales. In 2019, we purchased B & E Blanch in regional New South Wales.

In 2021, we acquired Young’s Bus Services in Rockhampton and the assets of KA & VK Stubbs, a school bus business in Narrabri, New South Wales. We acquired the assets of Rothery’s Coaches in Rockhampton in 2022.

CDC’s business portfolio also includes the acquisition of National Patient Transport in 2018 and the purchase of Moove Media Australia in 2021.

2022 was a milestone year for CDC, with new contacts in the Northern Territory (Alice Springs, Batchelor and Jabiru school services), as well as a new contract in NSW Region 12. CDC also retained its bus contracts in Northern Territory (Darwin) and in NSW (Contract Region 4 & 14).

In 2023, CDC in a joint venture with Red Bus Services was successful in its bid to operate Outer Metropolitan Bus Services Contract Region 7. CDC also won a new contract as the sole operator of new school bus transport services in Tennant Creek providing the remote township with better connectivity to education services.

In 2024, CDC acquired A2B Australia, a leading Australian taxi network. The addition of A2B’s taxi networks and technology solutions to our existing taxi network, Swan Taxis in Western Australia, positions CDC as the operator of Australia’s largest taxi network with around 9,000 vehicles.
