For print, in instances where the Pantone (PMS SPOT) colours are not necessary, the CMYK equivalent must always be used. For all screen and web based application, the RGB or HEX values must be used.
File types
Variation in colour can occur when different file types are used. As a general rule of thumb, always use an RGB .jpg or .png file for all screen and web based application. Additionally, .png files have transparent capabilities, which can be utilised if a reversed or white keyline logo is required.
For print, always use high resolution .eps or .pdf files. This will ensure the colours are accurate and the image is not blurry or pixelated in print reproduction. Both .eps and .pdf files have transparent capabilities if a reversed or white keyline logo is required.
CMYK or SPOT are both acceptable colour modes for print, CMYK being the more frequently used option. Pantone colours are reserved for specialty printing for example on uniforms, umbrellas or similar merchandise that may only offer a one or two colour print.
